About

What are we?

A tenants and residents association.

In September 2000 a community meeting was held , which outlined the situation of the ward and the attitudes of the inhabitants through a questionnaire to all homes. Having had the backing of all present at that meeting, a community group was formed and adopted the title Monkton voice. A constitution was adopted in February 2001. An action plan was drawn up in June 2001 Followed by the extensive SHARP project which ended in 2004.

How do we achieve this?

  • Monkton Voice does this by working constructively with the local authority and the community
  • By having a good relationship with P.C.C. and supporting our local councilors.
  • Supports village events such as fayres and has contributed financially to M.S.C.A,
  • Also supports the Church, Priory School PTA and the Family Centre.
  • Believes Monkton can achieve great benefit from the whole community working together.
  • Is open to every household in the ward.
  • Is financially independent, though receives an annual grant from P.C.C.
  • By holding meetings on the first Monday of the month at 2.30pm at the Community Hall.
